Dr. Nomtha Hadi serves as the Director of Research at the South African International Maritime Institute (SAIMI), where she leads initiatives to advance maritime research and innovation across the continent. ​

Prior to her role at SAIMI, Dr. Hadi was a lecturer at Nelson Mandela University, contributing significantly to the academic community. She also coordinated the Master of Maritime Management (MMM) program at Nelson Mandela University Business School, emphasizing the inclusion of women in maritime education.

Dr. Hadi's dedication to maritime research was recognized when she received the Woman in Maritime Research award from Maritime Review Africa. In her current capacity at SAIMI, Dr. Hadi continues to champion research and development, aiming to position Africa as a leader in the global maritime sector.
